Gears are slightly used but in excellent condition. These gears were removed from a 2-3 year old Club Car vehicle with the AC drive system. High speed gears were installed in these vehicles so we no longer need these gear sets.
Ratio: These gears have a ratio of 14.8:1, compared to the stock golf car gear ratio of 12.3:1. Installation of this gear set will result in slightly lower top speeds but more torque. These gears are ideal for vehicles that are used off road for hunting or on the farm. For example, on an 18 inch factory sized golf car tire with a motor running 4500 RPM, you will net 19.6 MPH with the factory gears, while only netting 16.6 MPH with the high torque gear set, but torque will increase to off-set the speed loss. If you have a high performance drive system running 35MPH, speed will drop to 29.1 MPH, but acceleration will drastically improve, along with hill climbing ability.
These gears have new bearings on the input shaft and the intermediate gear. The carrier bearings are the originals but are in excellent condition. These gears are available with or without the open differential carrier. You do not "need" the carrier to install these gears in your golf car. You can simply un-bolt the existing ring gear and install the replacement onto your existing carrier. You can include or exclude the carrier from your order via the drop down menus on this page.
